Dr. Ali Taher Al-Hammood, Managing Director of Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning, met with His Excellency Mr. Nazar Al-Khairallah, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States, at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington.
During the meeting, Al-Hammood reviewed the Center’s vision and research programs, as well as its most prominent academic and dialogue activities within its annual strategy, highlighting the key Iraqi and regional issues and policy areas on which it is working.
Al-Hammood also reviewed the outcomes of meetings, visits, and participation he undertook with a number of think tanks and American research institutions during his visit to Washington.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Khairallah emphasized the vital role of think tanks in providing policymakers with studies, insights, and research, praising the efforts of Al-Bayan Center in producing analyses, studies, and activities.
Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and continuous communication with the Mission of the Republic of Iraq in Washington, in a way that serves Iraqi–U.S. bilateral relations within the framework of “Track Two diplomacy,” of which think tanks constitute a key pillar.
The meeting comes on the sidelines of Al-Hammood’s participation in the “Iraq Dialogue Forum 2026,” hosted by the Atlantic Council / Iraq Initiative, from 13 to 15 May of the current month, with the participation of a select group of political, academic, research, and media figures from Iraq and the United States.
