The Managing Director of Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning, Dr. Ali Taher Al- Hammood, met with the President of the Middle East Institute, Mr. Stuart Jones, in Washington as part of efforts to strengthen communication and research and academic cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, Al- Hammood presented Al-Bayan Center’s vision, its main research programs, and the scholarly and dialogue activities it carries out under its annual strategy, in addition to highlighting the most important issues and areas on which the Center is working in Iraqi and regional affairs.
Al- Hammood also emphasized the importance of research openness and broadening cooperation with researchers, academics, and specialists inside Iraq, extending a formal invitation to the Middle East Institute to visit Iraq and participate in organizing a number of scholarly and dialogue activities and events related to the Iraqi situation.
For his part, Jones presented an overview of the Middle East Institute’s main directions and current programs, especially those related to political and strategic studies and regional issues.
Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening continuous channels of communication and joint cooperation in preparing studies and research and in organizing specialized scholarly events and dialogues concerning Iraqi affairs and regional challenges of mutual interest.
