    Al-Bayan Center Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Turkish Migration and Diaspora Foundation

    Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Migration and Diaspora Foundation in Turkey, during a ceremony held at the Center’s headquarters in Baghdad, with the aim of strengthening scientific and research cooperation and developing joint programs in the fields of studies and research.

    The memorandum was signed in the presence of the delegation from the Migration and Diaspora Foundation, which included: Mr. Recep Siyar, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees; Mr. Barış Toprak Şahin, Deputy Chairman of the Foundation and Head of Diplomatic Relations; and Mr. Mehmet Sabit Göktaş, Head of the Foundation’s Academy.

    Mustafa Al-Sarray, Director of the Research Department at Al-Bayan Center, affirmed that the signing of this memorandum comes within the Center’s commitment to building effective partnerships with research and international institutions, contributing to the support of specialized studies and the development of initiatives related to issues of migration and diaspora communities, as well as opening new avenues of cooperation between researchers and institutions in Iraq and Turkey.

    Al-Sarray also commended the role played by the Migration and Diaspora Foundation in research related to migration and asylum, as well as its diplomatic efforts aimed at opening new horizons for the development of migration policies and maximizing the contributions of diaspora communities in building cultural diplomacy and strengthening ties between countries.

    He explained that this step will contribute to launching a set of joint research programs and initiatives in the coming period, and to enhancing the exchange of expertise and scientific and research knowledge between the two sides, in a manner that supports the development of public policies related to diaspora communities and migration, and reinforces scientific research efforts in the region.
