Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning held a dialogue session titled: “The Baghdad Summit: Toward a New Arab Approach to Advancing Regional Stability and Economic Integration.”
The panel featured Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Planning Affairs; Abdel Latif El-Menawy, former Head of News at Egyptian Television; Dr. Ali Fares Hameed, Professor of Strategy and former Dean of the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University; and Dr. Nevin Massad, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University.
The session covered a range of topics, including Iraq’s role in regional transformations and the significance of the Arab Summit hosted by Baghdad in advancing development across the Arab world.
Participants discussed the importance of the summit in relation to the “Development Road” initiative and other strategic projects.
The discussion also addressed the emerging features of a “New Middle East” in the aftermath of the October 7 events, with a particular focus on economic integration and the sectors that stand to benefit from the summit’s outcomes.
Speakers presented insights and analyses on ways to enhance regional stability through a renewed Arab approach and emphasized the role of economic integration in achieving this goal, highlighting the summit’s importance in shaping a cooperative and forward-looking path for the region.
