The WPS Index is published by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security with support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The third edition of the global Women Peace and Security Index (WPS Index) draws on recognized data sources to measure women’s inclusion, justice, and security in 170 countries. The index shows that the global progress of the status of women is very slow, and that disparities between countries are increasing.
The integration dimension is related to education, finance, employment, mobile phone use, and parliamentary representation, while the justice dimension relates to the absence of legal discrimination, bias, and discriminatory rules, and the security dimension refers to partner violence, community safety, and organized violence.
