Al Bayan Center for Planning and Studies held a discussion session titled “Post-mediation: Iraqi-Iranian-Saudi Relations, a Reading of Regional Balances and Security”. The session hosted the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, in addition to a group of decision-makers, academics, and researchers. The attendees discussed the nature of the trilateral relations and the influencing variables in light of the current security transformations in the region. They also discussed the importance of diplomatic efforts for mediation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and how to benefit from these efforts and invest in the resulting outcomes, including how to maintain the stability of Iraq and the region.

Mr. Al-Barzanji presented Iraq’s efforts in the ongoing dialogue in light of the crises in the region and emphasized the necessity of establishing a joint coordination council between Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia to continue resolving regional issues.
