(YDI), prepared by the Commonwealth Secretariat\/Youth Division, has the status of a set of indicators that measure progress in youth development in 183 States, including 49 out of 52 Commonwealth States and guided by the Commonwealth&#8217;s definition of youth as persons between the ages of 15 and 29.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The index aims to assist Governments in identifying specific areas of evidence-based policies and programs to improve the status of youth in development and political participation.
