Sheikh Abdul Mehdi Al-Karbalaei

My brothers, my sisters…

I bring to your attention the following two matters:-

First matter:

The beloved capital Baghdad has witnessed in the past few days several security violations in which members of ISIS have attacked civilians at crowded markets in addition to the usual explosions by explosive belt and car bombs in public places. ISIS gangs wanted to use these attacks to reflect their ability to adapt their criminal acts to the changes taking place in the battle grounds which have witnessed several victories of the armed forces supported by volunteers and ardent tribes’ members. While these violations cannot be avoided by depending on traditional security methods like having high numbers of checkpoints and preforming routine inspection, it is necessary to work on developing the intelligence’s capabilities of the Iraqi security services, and to use people supports to obtain the necessary information about the hideouts the terrorists using in order to abort their criminal plans before they implement them. The city of Muqdadiyah in Diyala province has also witnessed, several days ago, unfortunate terrorists acts and attacks on number of mosques and houses. These incidents could have serious implications on the civil peace and coexistence of the people of this country. As we strongly condemn these attacks, we hold the government’s security forces responsible for the prevention of such incidents and not to allow the presence of armed men, who impose threats on the safety of any group of people and sects, outside the government’s control. Regarding the frontlines, we hope that our armed forces and volunteers heroes be cautious and alert of the enemy’s attempts to lunch attacks here and there to restore its spirit after the recent defeats in Anbar province and Makhoul mountains, with emphasis on the military need to support our hero fighters, the volunteers, and the sons of the Iraqi tribes as they need arms and equipment to be able to keep what they are doing in assessing the armed forces in the face of terrorists.

Second Matter:

Everybody knows Iraq is experiencing a difficult financial and economic situation as a result of the continuing decline in oil prices which its financial income constitute most of the revenues of Iraq’s annual budget, particularly the salaries of employees and pensioners. We cannot pass this difficult phase with minimal losses unless we all cooperate and follow a well, thought out, scientific plans established by expertise away from improvised decisions that can cause serious social upheavals and threaten the basic components of living of the Iraqi citizen. The Government’s interest in the security file and the danger of ISIS does not justify the lack of adequate attention by the authorities to develop appropriate economic and finical policy with the help of Iraqi and international expertise to address the current crisis in a correct way.

We ask the almighty God to take the hands of our officials to what is better for our country and our people, he listens and responds.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
